Small News and Price Comparisons

Not directly related to parking - but I learned this evening that the £9000 floodlights on the skatepark by the railway station have been out of action for about a month since somebody with either a long ladder or some considerable gymnastic skills apparently stole a single light fitting off the top of a pole. This rather reinforces the case made by Bradford Road residents for some lighting/security on the Stallards car park - maybe fitting one of those wildlife cameras. How come a pretty simple repair is taking so long?

Also noted that to park in the Trowbridge railway station car park is £3.20 a day which makes the £1 for an hour, £1.50 for 2 hours and £3.20 for 3 hours (no return within 5 hours) demanded by the council for Stallards car park look decidedly like a gouging / entrapment exercise. It would seem officials at Wiltshire Council have not got much of a clue when it comes to competitive pricing and the rude commercial world - but we knew that anyway - when you want money - just figure/contrive a way to fine people eh?
